FAQ Friday: The Polling Status Report

A new article has been posted to the TAM Retail blog by Derek Young:

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  I ran my Polling Status Report, but… what does it all mean?!

Answer:  The Polling Status Report will show you which location was polled and its name. It will also have a what occurred or process and status section. “Synchronization” is the polling from the Headquarter location to the remote store location. “Upload” and “Consolidation” is the polling from the remote to the Headquarter location.

If we look at the example below, you can see that Synchronization’s Last Action Time was 8/28/2013 1:18:35 PM. This means that the last time the Headquarters synchronized down to location 14, otherwise known as REMOTE, was at this time. The process “Last Action” tells us that at that time, it was able to send a total of 1,836 records. The Last Scheduled Run was 1/1/1753 12:00 AM. This means that the last time polling Synchronized via its schedule, was 1/1/1753. ** I don’t know about you, but I would say it’s been awhile hasn’t it? **

PollingStatus

Under Upload Date: It shows that the store REMOTE was able to run the program TAM Remote Upload on 6/17/2013 at 1:51:41 PM. The Consolidation Date: section shows 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM. What this is actually telling you is that the last time that location 14, REMOTE, had sales that was polled up to the Headquarter location was at this time. This was the last sale that location 14 had.

The information is the same for Location 2, also known as, Blackmountain. The biggest difference that you see here is that under the Synchronization Last Action, the process failed due to the fact it was cancelled before it finished.
